Blossom Lake, Montana

3rd backpacking trip for me
Highlights include:

  • Getting to our campsite before dark
  • Having the entire lake to ourselves Friday night
  • Hiking to Upper Blossom Lake to find that someone had built a log raft and left it for other peoples enjoyment
  • Catching frogs
  • Falling in the lake( if you're a Ballard you know this happens every time I'm at a lake )
  • Saving my camera from getting wet at all costs
  • Hiking to Pear Lake for a mere fifty seconds, snapping a picture, then running away from the swarms of Mosquito's
  • Eating freeze dried dark chocolate cheesecake
  • Suntanning by the lake
  • Reading and taking naps in the hammocks
  • Surviving the thunderstorm from Hell
  • Making it out of the mountains alive and well
  • Taking a glorious shower and...
  • Using my own toilet
Although I haven't gone many times, I can say that so far, I love backpacking!

    1. The brand of freeze dried meals we like is called Backpackers Pantry and they have dessert ones :) They are super yummy... except the apple cobbler. That was gross!!
