HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO THE BEST MOM IN THE WORLD!!!
I am infinitely sad that today I can't be with my mom and celebrate how great she is. Today at Church everyone was talking about how great their Moms were and I thought "I'm going to blog about my Mom" to show the world how great she is.I wish I could write more eloquently and really explain how amazing she is but this is all I can do. Here is a small list of things that I love about her.
1. My mom has a better sense of humor in her left pinky than I do throughout my whole body. She is hilarious! I can think of times where her sense of humor drove me crazy but now that I am not 15, I can appreciate the jokes, the silly faces she pulled at me and the songs she made up for me. I am so thankful that my mom taught me manners but also allowed my siblings and I to joke around with them at home. I am glad I was raised in a house where I knew how to burp the ABC's and was encouraged to play in the mud. :)
2. This one goes along with number one. She is the funnest mom in the world! She loves to play outside, do crafts, sing, watch movies, shop, paint nails, hike, camp, swim, explore, read, go on walks, make up funny stories, have bonfires, carve pumpkins, go to thrift stores, etc! My mom made up stories for me when I was little that I loved. She took us on "Moon walks" every full moon. She took me shopping during school when I needed a day off. She makes the greatest sand castles. She plans the most amazing vacations. She has an adventurous soul that I inherited from her. I have been to random places around the country because my Mom looked at a map and said, "Let's go here. It's only an inch away from where we are!"
3. My mom is the most loving person I know. Her career was raising her children. Her life, passion, and hobbies were Gr, Chantelle, myself, and Blair. My mom loves "breathtaking" landscapes, chickens, Dr Pepper, Harry Potter, camping, her Mom and Dad, Logan Canyon, shoes, Easter, the Bee Jee's, and so much more. Anything she loves she puts her whole heart into and I admire her for that.
4. My mom has incredible Faith in the Lord. As a teenager I made a lot of choices that weren't what she wanted. She prayed and prayed for me and when her answer was to let me be, she followed what the Lord told her. By not pushing me, we didn't fight, but instead we were able to build a wonderful relationship. I know that as a teenager I would have rebelled ten fold if she had pushed me to be any more involved with Church. I can imagine how frustrating it must have felt for her to watch me go down a rough road and sit back and let me. The Lord knew what was best for me and although my Mom did not know the outcome, she followed His promptings.
5. She takes care of everyone. Really, my Mom not only takes care of her kids, but her Mom, her Dad, her nieces and nephews, her granddaughter, stray cats off the street, and my Dad.
6. She knew that I wanted to marry Caleb when I re-enacted the bridge scene from Anne of Green Gables with him.
7. She chaperoned a kazillion sleepovers for my friends and I throughout High School.
8. She sends me care packages with hilarious things inside them.
9. 98% of the texts I receive are from her.
10. She loves Harry Potter as much as I do.
One day I will be a mom and my children will be blessed to have her as their Grandma.
Thank you for all you do Mum! I love you so much :)
I just love your Mom! I loved her the first time I met her, and after reading more about her here, I love her all the more and wished I knew her better.
ReplyDeleteHey Ammie! Just wanted to add that a million years ago, when I was dating GR, I told him that I would marry him just to have Michelle as a mother-in-law. She is the best and super duper awesome!
